Laura Payne

Laura Payne (b. 1987, Ottawa) is a visual artist based in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. She received her BFA from the University of Western Ontario (London, ON) and her MFA from the Mount Royal School of Art at MICA (Baltimore, MD). Her paintings and new media works have been exhibited widely, at venues such as Interaccess Electronic Media Arts Center (Toronto, ON), School 33 (Baltimore, MD), Conner Smith (Washington, D.C.), the Mendel Art Gallery for their annual fundraiser LUGO (Saskatoon), the National Gallery of Canada (Ottawa, ON), as well as multiple Nuit Blanche events across the country. Payne has received financial support from the Saskatchewan Arts Board and the Ontario Arts Council for multiple projects. She was a finalist for the RBC Canadian Painting Competition in 2017, and the recipient of a Saskatchewan Foundations for the Arts Award in 2018.

Laura Payne (née en 1987, à Ottawa) est une artiste visuelle basée à Saskatoon, en Saskatchewan. Elle obtient un baccalauréat en beaux-arts à l'Université Western Ontario (London, ON) et une maîtrise en beaux-arts de la Mount Royal School of Art au MICA (Baltimore, MD). Ses œuvres sont exposées à plusieurs reprises, notamment au Interaccess Electronic Media Arts Center (Toronto, ON), à l'École 33 (Baltimore, MD), à Conner Smith (Washington, D.C.), à la Mendel Art Gallery à l’occasion de leur levée de fonds annuelle LUGO (Saskatoon), au Musée des beaux-arts du Canada (Ottawa, ON), ainsi que dans le cadre de multiples événements Nuit Blanche à travers le pays. Payne reçoit l'appui financier du Conseil des arts de la Saskatchewan et du Conseil des arts de l'Ontario pour de multiples projets. Elle est finaliste du Concours de peintures canadiennes de RBC en 2017 et lauréate du prix Foundation for the Arts de la Saskatchewan en 2018.
