Yasuaki Kuroda / 黒田 恭章 (b.1986, Japan) is a textile artist based in Tokyo, Japan. He holds a Bachelor's as well as a Master's degree in Industrial, Interior and Craft Design from Musashino Art University in Japan. An ode to slow-made, his complex woven colour panels are made of hundreds of carefully interlaced naturally dyed silk strands that act as abstract records of particular moments in time. The artist's primary interest resides in the place where threads are connected with words. His pieces seek to honour traditional weaving practices as one of the earliest linguistic systems for communication and information recording. Yasuaki Kuroda's work was awarded the Grand Prix of the Tokyo Wonder Wall 2016 by the Tokyo Government. His artworks have been exhibited across Japan, the United States, Germany and Canada and can be found in contemporary art collections worldwide.

Il détient un baccalauréat ainsi qu'une maîtrise en Design industriel, d'intérieur et artisanal de la Musashino Art University au Japon. Une ode au slow-made, ses tissages complexes sont constitués de centaines de fils de soie soigneusement entrecroisés et issus de procédés de teinture naturelle traditionnels. L'intérêt premier de l'artiste réside dans la relation entre la fibre et le concept de textualité. Ses œuvres font honneur aux arts de la fibre traditionnels en revalorisant leur rôle à titre de  modes de communications et d'archivage de l'information. Le travail de Kuroda a remporté le Grand prix au Tokyo Wonder Wall 2016, honneur décerné par le gouvernement de Tokyo. Ses œuvres ont été exposées au Japon, aux États-Unis, en Allemagne et au Canada.
